The Truth About Market America from my point of view
I am just the average
person wanting
to work from home while raising my three children, on my own. Since
March I have been attending meetings, product shows and doing research
to learn more about Market America. I even joined a website forum
dedicated to learning where the scams are. I found Market America
listed but it's not what you think. People were there deciphering what
and who Market America is. One thing they did determine is that Market
America is NOT a scam.
So here is a little bit of my story leading up to Market America:
When I was married my husband wanted me to stay at home beginning with
our first born. I hesitated about it because it meant I would be
isolated. I had worked in a hosiery mill with 95% of the employees
being women. Staying at home was okay. I did enjoy the time I had to
just stay at home with our daughter. After awhile though I did get
bored with it.
I worked part time at a local nursery in the summertime watering plants
3-4 hours every other day. But that was a seasonal job.
I wanted to find something I could do from home, that was legitimate.
I ended up spending hundreds of dollars and probably even into the
thousands just to do something at home. I got burned big time too.
I had thought about doing some of the well known things like
Avon, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, but in my area these business
opportunities are
saturated. I wanted to find something worthwhile that other people
hadn't quite heard of just yet, that was legitimate.
For two years I didn't work. I stayed at home and attended college. I
have three children I'm raising as a single mom. For 2 1/2 years we
lived in public housing. I wanted more out of life though. I was still
wishing there was a job I could do working from home.
I have struggled and struggled to find childcare. I did attempt to go
back to work and I was blessed to have the kind of boss I had. At least
a half dozen times in the nine months I worked for him I received phone
calls about a sick child. I had to stay home sometimes to take care of
a sick child. I have very little support when it comes to working
outside the home other than two very close friends I have.
Then in early 2008 I had people pulling me aside telling me about one
of the ladies I attend church with. I knew very little about her other
than she was the one who invited all of us church members to her house
for an after Christmas party. Aparently she has been working
with
this very successful company called Market America helping others find
what they are looking for. She has also been helping many people get
back on track when it comes to their health.
I received a flyer regarding learning more about this business she is
involved in. I admit when I first read it I thought here we go again,
another person claiming to be all that and very rich. The stuff was
going to be over my head and I was going to get burned once again. Not
at all.
I found out she has worked as a distributor with Market America since
1995, the year I graduated from high school.
People I am attending church with were signing up like hot cakes. I was
still slightly leary. They were already doing research even Googling
our team leader, Mary Susan Bedard (Reher). They couldn't find a thing
about
Market America scams.
Before this time I had not even heard of Market America. I also admit
that attending the first & second looks got overwhelming. But I
had
support from my really good friends who sat down with me and answered a
lot of my questions. We all were working together as a team even though
we hadn't signed up yet.
One thing my best friend told me to do was Google Market America Scam.
I have not found anything negative that has merit.
I eventually signed up to become a distributor the middle of March this
year. The team concept is what grabbed my attention. What
gave me
that extra boost to sign up was going to Franklin,TN and hear Bruce
Holder speak. Towards the end of the day he was telling the audience to
just do it. Don't worry about the money, just do it.
I have had almost every person ask me is this Amway? Is this a pyramid?
Is this a scam?
The answers are No, No and No.
If this was about Amway I wouldn't be writing this story. Amway/Quixtar
is Multi-Level Marketing.Whereas Market America is
Vertical Distribution. Everyone on the same team receives
100% sales commissions.
I pretty much guarantee you after talking with friends who do other
well known selling with well known companies this is Very different
than anything else you have ever seen. I have been working on research
besides talking to friends. Other companies give their distributors
30-50% in sales commissions.
Also, many other companies want you to recruit 5,10, 15, 20 people to
even remotely make any money. Market America tells you get 2 people to
sign up to be distributors and you'll be qualified to receive
commission checks.
One other thing that attracted me to Market America is that I can
purchase the products directly and sell them at retail giving me the
opportunity to make a little extra money until I sponsor two other
people. This means I am not sitting around on my rear end waiting to
make money.
I've personally tried several of the products as well as having my
family try the products. Everyone is very pleased with the results.
I have my
own website portal
that allows me to help others find what they are looking for. There are
over 2,700 partner stores you can go shopping with and earn points
towards free products in the future. Customers sign up for free and
there are no obligations.
You may find others that do their best to mimic what Market America has
accomplished but keep an eye on them because like so many others who
have attempted to copy Market America's plan, they have failed.
This is a great business plan and a great way to meet other people and
to also make money. This plan is for the average person.
It's not about getting rich over night. In fact, the veteran
UnFranchise owners tell you the plan calls for 18-36
months
for your business to really get going. Unless, you are a very motivated
go getter. Nothing is impossible though.
I challenge you to Google Market America Scam and see what you find.
There are plenty of articles regarding Market America with people
deciphering what MA is all about but in a positive light.
Market America is not a scam. It's a true business opportunity.
